El presidente de la petrolera estatal colombiana Ecopetrol, Ricardo Roa, desmintió este lunes estar involucrado en un caso de corrupción que salpica también a su pareja y aseguró que no va a renunciar a su cargo porque “todos los seres humanos” tienen derecho a la presunción de inocencia.
Roa manifestó a periodistas que “ha sido objeto de persecuciones y calumnias” que buscan desprestigiarlo y “desestabilizar con ello los actos y decisiones de las compañías que conforman Ecopetrol”.
Añadió que también está habiendo “una persecución” contra el Gobierno de Gustavo Petro, de quien fue gerente de campaña durante las elecciones presidenciales de 2022.
El presidente de la compañía energética aseguró además que su pareja, Julián Caicedo, acusado de influir en la toma de decisiones de la empresa, “no tiene poder (en Ecopetrol), no lo ha tenido y no lo va a tener”, pues señaló que no hace parte de los procesos de contratación y vinculación de la empresa.
Asimismo, Roa expresó que, lejos de ser corrupto, son él y su equipo los que están “destapando los entramados” que han sucedido y que siguen sucediendo en la compañía: “venimos tocando intereses ocultos, profundos, impactando mafias que han querido vivir de forma ilegal de los servicios y actividades de Ecopetrol, que han venido afectando a la compañía y a sus asociados”.
Acusaciones de exdirectivo
El escándalo se desató luego de que un exdirectivo de la compañía, cuya identidad no fue revelada, afirmara este lunes a la emisora Caracol Radio que “salió (de Ecopetrol) tras 20 años de servicio” y que aseguró que la pareja del Roa “tiene injerencia en decisiones de la compañía”.
Roa desmintió estas acusaciones e hizo referencia a la compra y remodelación del apartamento que tiene con Caicedo, hechos de los que se le acusa de haberlos realizado “por debajo de la mesa” con contratistas, negando que esto fuera así y asegurando que todos los trámites se hicieron de forma legal.
De igual manera, aseguró que no va a dimitir porque “no hay ninguna sentencia del Estado o fuera del Estado” a efectos de saber si hay investigaciones sobre sus “actos, conductas y decisiones”.
Otras investigaciones contra Roa
Este no es el único escándalo en el que está involucrado Roa, pues el Consejo Nacional Electoral (CNE) abrió una investigación contra la campaña presidencial de Petro el mes pasado.
Este organismo consideró que Petro, como candidato; Roa, como gerente de campaña, y otros miembros de su equipo deberán responder “por la presunta vulneración al régimen de financiación de las campañas electorales”, pues se sospecha que superaron los topes de gasto establecidos y recurrieron a fuentes prohibidas que no declararon.
