La Superintendencia de Salud reveló preocupantes hallazgos tras 15 días de intervención administrativa a Coosalud EPS. Según el informe preliminar, la entidad promotora de salud utilizó recursos públicos para servir como fiador en un crédito bancario por $206.213 millones otorgado a una empresa privada llamada Coosalud Inversa S.A.S., cuyo representante legal es Jaime González, quien también figura como representante de la EPS.
El Superintendente de Salud, Giovanny Rubiano, explicó que en diciembre de 2022 se firmó un contrato de crédito entre el banco GNB Sudameris y Coosalud Inversa. En este acuerdo, Coosalud EPS se registró como garante, comprometiendo recursos públicos destinados a la salud.
“En noviembre de 2024, el banco notificó el incumplimiento del crédito, activando las cláusulas de aceleración para recuperar la obligación, que ascendía a más de $221.000 millones. Posteriormente, se procedió a usar recursos provenientes de fideicomisos relacionados con Coosalud para cubrir la deuda, transfiriendo $206.000 millones el 20 de noviembre de 2024”, detalló Rubiano.
Acciones legales y de control
Ante este irregular manejo de los recursos, la Superintendencia de Salud compulsó copias del caso a la Fiscalía General de la Nación para que inicie las investigaciones correspondientes. Asimismo, activó la red de entidades de control, incluyendo la Contraloría General de la República y la Defensoría del Pueblo, para que supervisen y tomen medidas frente al caso.
La utilización de fondos públicos en operaciones privadas pone en entredicho la gestión de Coosalud y genera preocupación por el destino de los recursos destinados a garantizar la atención médica de miles de colombianos. Las autoridades prometen avanzar con celeridad en las investigaciones para esclarecer los hechos y determinar responsabilidades.
