La tarde de este jueves 28 de noviembre, una de las torres del conjunto residencial Privilegios, ubicado en el barrio Campo Alegre de Barranquilla, se desplomó, generando una grave emergencia.
Organismos de socorro rescataron a tres menores de edad y una mujer, quienes resultaron con politraumatismos y fueron trasladados a centros asistenciales. Además, un policía sufrió una lesión en una pierna tras ser golpeado por una piedra mientras ayudaba en la evacuación de los residentes.
El conjunto residencial, situado en la calle 89 con carrera 41, había sido declarado como zona de alto riesgo en 2004 debido a posibles deslizamientos de tierra. En aquel momento, al menos 30 familias se negaron a abandonar el lugar, lo que incrementa las preocupaciones sobre la gestión del riesgo en la zona.
Autoridades locales investigan las causas del colapso y evalúan las condiciones de las demás estructuras cercanas para prevenir nuevos incidentes.
