El Unión Magdalena dio un paso firme hacia la final del Torneo Clausura de la segunda división de Colombia, tras golear 4-0 a Llaneros en el estadio Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Este contundente resultado deja al conjunto samario en una posición cómoda para el partido de vuelta, que se disputará en Villavicencio, y les da una gran esperanza de ascender a la primera división. Además, con este marcador, se perfilan como favoritos para disputar la gran final por el ascenso, que podría ser nuevamente contra Llaneros, quienes ganaron el Torneo Apertura.
Dominio total desde el inicio
Desde el comienzo, el equipo dirigido por Jorge Luis Pinto mostró su intención de dominar el encuentro. A los 5 minutos, una mano dentro del área de Llaneros fue sancionada como penalti, el cual fue convertido por Jannenson Sarmiento.
El segundo gol llegó al minuto 36, luego de una jugada de Ruyery Blanco, quien estrelló un remate contra el poste, pero rápidamente se redimió con un cabezazo que llegó al fondo de la red tras un centro desde la derecha. Antes de que terminara el primer tiempo, Sarmiento consiguió su doblete con otro penalti, tras una revisión en el VAR que sancionó una mano de Andrés Cadavid dentro del área.
Llaneros no pudo reaccionar
En el segundo tiempo, Llaneros intentó cambiar el rumbo del partido, pero no logró encontrar la fórmula para reducir la ventaja. En un error defensivo, Unión Magdalena aprovechó una contra rápida: Ruyery Blanco asistió a Cristian Sencion, quien definió con precisión en un mano a mano para poner el 4-0 definitivo.
Cerca del título, pero el ascenso aún en juego
Con esta victoria, el Unión Magdalena está muy cerca de asegurar el título del Torneo Clausura. Sin embargo, su ascenso aún no está garantizado, ya que, en caso de conquistar el torneo, deberá enfrentar a Llaneros nuevamente en la gran final por el ascenso a la primera división. El perdedor de esa final deberá jugar un repechaje contra Real Cartagena para obtener el ascenso.
El partido de vuelta entre Llaneros y Unión Magdalena se jugará el 3 de diciembre en Villavicencio.
