En un operativo de control y patrullaje en la vereda Garrido de Guarne, oriente antioqueño, la Policía logró incautar cinco toneladas de pólvora almacenadas ilegalmente. El decomiso incluyó 5.794 artículos pirotécnicos, entre ellos bengalas, papeletas, voladores y cohetes, que estaban destinados a la comercialización en esta temporada decembrina.
Las autoridades calificaron la operación como un importante golpe a la fabricación, almacenamiento y venta ilegal de pólvora, problemática que ha incrementado los riesgos durante las festividades. Según la Policía Antioquia, hasta la fecha, 28 personas han resultado quemadas en el departamento, cinco de ellas en Guarne.
Entre los casos registrados en este municipio, destaca un incidente donde cuatro integrantes de una misma familia sufrieron quemaduras de primer y segundo grado. Las víctimas, una mujer de 48 años y sus dos hijas menores de 10 y 7 años, resultaron heridas mientras transitaban por el parque principal de Guarne, debido a la manipulación irresponsable de pólvora por parte de terceros.
El llamado de las autoridades es claro: evitar el uso de pólvora y reportar su almacenamiento o comercialización ilegal para prevenir tragedias y proteger a la comunidad, especialmente a los niños, quienes son los más afectados por estas prácticas peligrosas.
